Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popularly known as (WIZKID) is among one of Nigeria's biggest and most popular R&B Crossover Acts, having worked with Chris Brown, Skepta, and Drake, with a lot of others in the music industry. He founded regional approval and success in 2011 with a very good and vibrant and massively very popular single "Holla At Your Boy", which showed on his debut album, Superstar. Wizkid became more popular globally in 2016 after he collaborated with Drake, "One Dance", gained number one in 15 countries, turning it into a multi-album deal with RCA, which gave his Caribbean-influenced Major-label Debut, Sounds From The Other Side, in 2017. The commended Made In Lagos followed in 2021, featuring the internationally charting hit single "Essence". Just one year later, Wizkid came up with his fifth (5th) album, More Love, Less Ego.
Balogun started his career in the music industry when he was just 11 years old. The first record, Lil Prinz, was recorded in 2001 in alliance with Glorious Five, a group consisting of Balogun and his friends from Church. In 2006, he began chasing music full-time, first collaborating with different and various types of Nigerian pop acts like Banky W, Naeto C, and OJB Jezreel. By 2011, he was already ready to record his first (debut) studio album as a solo or single artist, [Superstar] was released by Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) to great critical and public cheer across Africa, propelling Wizkid to fame in his home country Nigeria.After many delays and label disagreements, he still dropped his Sophomore Studio Album, Ayo, in 2014. The record featured many guest appearances, including a spot from one of the music's greatest Femi Kuti. Also, it featured Wizkid's global uplifting and breakthrough track "Ojuelegba". not only did the single cement his ground and status as one of Nigeria's biggest and most popular pop acts but it was picked up and also remixed by Skepta and Drake, pushing Wizkid into international attention. In payback, he appeared on Drake's 2016 smash single "One Dance".Around March 2017, Wizkid signed a major-label deal with RCA and Sony International, which would drop his third (3rd) LP, Sounds From The Other Side, later that year.
